A quick and easy card using SU products

Happy Sunday folks!

Can you believe it’s April already ….. the weeks sure are flying by.

I am chuffed to bits with my new SU InkPad Rack KX made by Creations by Rod (www.creations-by-rod.co.uk). Great quality and at an affordable price – whats not to love! Rod makes a large range of inserts for the Ikea Kallax/Expedit but they can also be freestanding like mine.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t around on the day Parcelforce wanted to delivery the racl so I arranged via automated SMS for delivery next day but that didn’t work and I’m sure you can imagine how I felt when they admitted misplacing the parcel but eventually it was found and delivered. I have to say the young lady who I spoke to was really professional despite me taking my frustration out on her – poor girl.

On Friday my parents celebrated their Emerald Wedding Anniversary – 55 years together is a huge milestone so I made them this special card. The card base was 8in x 8in with matting layers in Emerald Envy then Whisper White. The larger flowers were stamped in Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride using the Special Reasons stamp set, these and leaves are die cut using the Bigshot with the Stylist Stems Framelits dies – they come as a bundle so you can save 10% (#144720). The smaller flowers are stamped in Watermelon Wonder with the Petite Petals set (#133155) and cut with the matching punch (#133322). The other leaves are from the Botanical Builder Framelits dies (#140625).

Anyway, today is my wedding anniversary – 12 years together, forever to go! As I was away last weekend, we had both sets of parents over for Sunday lunch which was lovely. The hubby is now in bed so I’ve managed to get my Sunday video and blog finished – I must get more organised rather than leave these things to the last minute!

Today’s demo is a quick and easy card using the Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing folder (#133737). It really is lovely and this is a good way of using up smaller bits of card. The colours are from the Blooms & Bliss cardstock pack – Island Indigo, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum. These are layered onto a layer of Basic Black with a standard A6 Whisper White card base. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark on a hand torn strip of Basic Black and heat embossed in White Embossing powder. To finish it off I stamped three flowers in each of the colours using a flower from the Petite Petals stamp set and punched them out using the matching punch.

The first sample I made used a Basic Black card base but I think it’s pops more on a white card base. I also made a card using the de-bossed side of the embossed panels – which do you like better?
