So on Tuesday night I gave my first Stampin’ Up demonstration. I was a little nervous but I love paper crafting so was excited to share my crafting story and how I discovered Stampin’ Up. It had been in the diary for ages, as I offered to fill a slot at one of the regular evening meetings for a local charity Butterflies Breast Cancer Support Group as both my parents are on the committee. It helped that I’ve met some of them before so know was a lovely friendly bunch they are. I asked my Dad to take a few photo’s – here’s one of me in full flow!! The display board in the background was full of cards made using SU products.
Time was a little limited but I managed to demonstrate three projects using some of my favourite Stampin’ Up products including a new set very aptly called Beautiful You, which is in the SU Occasions 2017 catalogue that just launched last week. (I only received the set on Monday but couldn’t wait to make some cards!!)
Here are the projects – the first design is CASed from the SU annual catalogue and uses one of the stamps from the Petite Petals stamp set in Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Blushing Bride inks. I used the Petite Petals punch to add a little dimension. The sentiment is from the Suite Sentiments:
The second card uses the new stamp Beautiful stamp set. Stamping one of the images in Black Momento. The lady is coloured in Sweet Sugarplum and the ground is Mint Macaron. The sentiment which is from the same set. It’s clean and simple – I absolutely love the way it turned out.
The last project used a leaf image from the Grateful Bunch stamp set, two from the Flower Shop set and two from Papillon Potpourri. I actually made this up on the night as I wanted to demonstrate the matching butterfly punches.
Sadly only a few of the attendees had a go (I’d prepared enough for all 30 to make each project!) but those that did had fun. I got some really positive and constructive feedback and I know they enjoyed the evening as much as I did because they’ve invited me back later in the year. All in all a wonderful evening and a fantastic learning experience!
That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by.
